Fight For Your Time With Me

We all want more hours in the day. Our calendars fill up fast, notifications never stop, and everyone seems to need something. But the most important invitation in your life comes quietly: God saying, “Fight for your time with Me.”

Many people feel pulled in every direction. You make plans, chase goals, and handle responsibilities, yet the one relationship that gives real peace often gets squeezed out. Scripture reminds us that God is not distant or demanding in the frantic way the world is. He simply waits for us to come.

Proverbs 16:9 says it clearly: “In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.” You can have beautiful plans for your week. God still wants to shape how your time actually unfolds.

Jesus gave us a powerful picture in Mark 1:15: “The time has come. The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news.” He was reminding people that the most important moment is always right now—the moment you turn toward Him.

Why the fight matters

Time with God is not another task. It is the source that makes everything else steadier. When you protect even fifteen quiet minutes in the morning or a short time in the evening, something shifts inside you. Worry loses some of its power. Decisions feel clearer. You walk through your day with a little more peace.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 tells us, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” That includes a time to be still. Not because you are lazy, but because your soul needs it.

James 4:13-15 gives a gentle warning about our busy plans. It says we should always hold our schedules loosely and add the words, “If it is the Lord’s will.” Those five words keep our hearts open to what truly matters.

How to actually fight for it

You do not have to change everything overnight. Simply begin by setting aside a little time each day to be with the Lord, and guard that time as something precious because your relationship with Him truly matters.

Choose a consistent time each day, even if it is only 10–15 minutes. Find a quiet place where you can focus on God’s presence without distractions. Before reaching for your phone, open your Bible or read a short devotional, allowing God’s Word to be the first voice that speaks into your day.

As you continue this daily practice, it will become a life-giving habit. Some days your mind may wander, and that’s okay. Don’t become discouraged. However, turn your thoughts back to the Lord. He is not looking for perfection—He desires a heart that seeks Him with sincerity.

Remember the beautiful promise found in Psalms 31:15 (NIV): “My times are in your hands.” What a comforting reminder that every moment of your life is safely held by God. You do not have to carry every burden or figure everything out on your own. As you place your time in His hands, He will give you the peace, wisdom, and strength you need for each new day.

A Daily Reminder for Every Age

Whether you are sixteen or sixty, God’s invitation remains the same. He isn’t looking for perfect prayers or eloquent words. He simply desires your heart—whether you’re tired, busy, joyful, hurting, hopeful, or even distracted. He welcomes you just as you are.

Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us of His faithful promise: For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Part of that hopeful future is a growing relationship with Him. As life becomes busier, protecting your time with God becomes even more important. The world will constantly compete for your attention, but God lovingly invites you to give Him your heart.

Make time with Him a daily priority. Fight to protect those quiet moments in His presence, because your strength, wisdom, peace, and purpose all flow from your relationship with Him.

Keep Growing in Christ,
